A carbon footprint is the total amount of greenhouse gases (including carbon dioxide and methane) that are generated by our actions.

According to a comparison study done for Frost & Sullivan's Environmental Impact Analysis: Production of Rough Diamonds report, mining diamonds results in detrimental carbon emissions of 57,000 grams per carat. Lab-grown diamonds, on the other hand, release just 0.028 grams per carat.
