Do you ever wonder how to become a jewellery appraiser?
It might sound simpe but the process aren't that easy at all.
First, you need to choose world reputable school, such is GIA (Gemological Institute of America), AGS (American Gem Society) and more to study the technical skills and knowledges. The program from GIA graduate gemologist starting at
US $26000+ for on-campus study.
You can not just be an appraiser right away after graduate, you will need certain on hand training by working at jewellery store or jewellery sector. It takes experience and time to build up the confidence and skills. You also need tools to understand the current price to make the judgement call on final appraisal price.
Some appraiser will get into appraiser course to ensure that they are following the current jewellery standards.
The appraisal price might be difference due to different company has it's own mark-up. Normally the mark-up is between 20% to 30%.
